IRVING, Texas -- Top-ranked Texas Lutheran broke open a 1-1 game against the University of Dallas with a seven-run fourth inning in a 9-1 conference victory Friday night.
The game ended after five innings due to the eight-run rule.
TLU improved to 9-0 overall and to 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Dallas dropped to 4-7 overall and to 0-1 in the SCAC.

Kelly Jurden stole two bases on Friday. The first steal broke Ashley Jacobsen's career steals record. Jacobsen ended her brilliant four-year career with 100 steals.
Jurden, a junior, now has 102 stolen bases in 98 career games. She also had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI Friday against Dallas.
Bulldog pitching led Dallas to two hits.
Kayla Oliveira went four innings and notched the win. She improved to 4-0.
TLU and Dallas play a conference doubleheader Saturday in Irving. The first game is set for a noon start.
