SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Soccer won for the fourth time in its last five games with a 2-0 victory Sunday over Johnson & Wales - Denver.
TLU improved to 5-2-0. JWU-Denver fell to 1-6-1. The match, although played between two Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams, is a scheduled non-conference contest.
At TLU's Gustafson Field,
Cameron Townes (Cypress/Cypress Ranch) headed home what would be the match-winner.
Townes scored in the 14th minute off a perfect free kick to the left side of the box from
Mitchell Long (Round Rock/Round Rock).
Townes scored for the fifth time this year.

Luis Green (Monterrey, Mexico/Smithson Valley) joined in the scoring in the 33rd minute when he received a long pass from
Calamus Griffin (The Colony/The Colony) and made a move in the open field to create the scoring chance.
Green scored for the seventh time in his last four matches.
TLU out-shot JWU 22-12 and held a 15-4 edge in shots on goal.
The Bulldogs head to San Antonio and Kerrville, Texas this weekend for non-conference matches with SCAC opponents Trinity and Schreiner. The Bulldogs face Trinity at 7 p.m. Friday and play Schreiner at 3 p.m. Sunday.
