IRVING, Texas -- Fifth-ranked Texas Lutheran powered its way to 11-0 and 18-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road wins over University of Dallas on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs' 29 runs came on 26 hits and backed a pair of complete-game pitching performances from Dylan Murrell (Tomball/Memorial) and Nathan Malinovsky (New Braunfels/New Braunfels).

TLU won its fourth and fifth straight and improved to 18-6 overall and 4-1 in the SCAC.

Dallas dropped to 12-13 overall and to 1-7 in the SCAC.

In the early game, TLU scored six runs in the eighth inning to break the game open and end the contest in eight innings.

Murrell spun a six-hit shutout and moved his record to 5-1. Murrell struck out four and walked two.

Tyler Cauley (Mont Belvieu/Barbers Hill) doubled and had three hits with two runs scored and two RBI.

Spencer Brandt (Yoakum/Yoakum) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI, and Joe Jimenez (San Antonio/Johnson) also registered two hits. Jimenez scored twice and drove in a run.

In the late game, the Bulldogs took a 3-1 lead after three innings and bust the game open with three in the fifth, six in the sixth, and six more in the seventh.

Blade Strzelczyk (San Antonio/East Central) went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI, and Cole Irby hit a three-run home run and drove in four.

Collin Docker (Lago Vista/Lago Vista) and Jimenez each had two RBI. Jimenez was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Cameron Wilson (Katy/Morton Ranch) gave TLU an early 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the second.

Malinovsky tossed seven innings and struck out eight. He walked two and scattered six hits. Malinovsky moved to 3-3.

Malinovsky's win was the 30th victory of his dedicated career. He is two wins from tying (and three from breaking) the TLU Baseball career wins record, held by Brad Orosey and Ron Churchman. Orosey and Churchman each ended their careers with 32 victories.
