SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran rallied from a 3-0 deficit to post a 5-4 win over Millikin (Ill.) Sunday afternoon and completed a three-game series sweep at Katt-Isbel Field.

TLU, ranked ninth in the last D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, improved to 10-4 with the non-conference victory.

Millikin, out of Decatur, Ill., dropped to 1-6.

Bulldog third baseman Nick Gardoni (Salinas, Calif./Palma) hit a two-run single in the sixth to give TLU a 5-3 lead. Gardoni's base hit was part of a three-run sixth for the Bulldogs.

TLU senior right-hander Dylan Murrell (Tomball/Memorial) did not allow an earned run over his five innings of work. He struck out three and allowed three hits and two walks.

With the tying run at second and the go-ahead run at first in the ninth, Murrell recorded a strikeout looking to end the game.

Murrell improved to 2-1 with the win in relief.

Dalton Kinder (Cedar Park/Vista Ridge), Trey Albaugh (Tomball/Concordia Lutheran), and Spencer Brandt (Yoakum/Yoakum) also drove in runs for TLU.

Junior right-hander Adam Zuk started for Millikin and tossed a perfect three innings before leaving the game. He struck out four.

TLU did not have a hit until a leadoff single in the fifth from Tyler Cauley (Mont Belvieu/Barbers Hill).

TLU's homestand continues next Friday and Saturday with a three-game, non-conference series against the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Friday's first pitch is set for 7 p.m. at TLU's Katt-Isbel Field.
