SEGUIN, Texas -- Cecily Woolfolk scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Southwestern Pirates to a 66-62 road win over Texas Lutheran, Tuesday night in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs fell to 15-8 overall and to 11-3 in the SCAC. TLU's quest for a top-two seed in the upcoming Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament took a hit.
The Bulldogs now sit third in the SCAC standings, behind Trinity and Austin College. The top two teams received a first-round bye in the tournament.
Southwestern improved to 10-13 overall and to 9-5 in the SCAC.
Senior guard
Bryanna Delgado (Port Lavaca/Calhoun) led TLU with 17 points. She was 7-for-9 from the field and 2-for-2 from the three-point line.
Tara Molina (San Antonio/Johnson) contributed 15 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
Morgan Rodriguez (New Braunfels/Canyon) added 13 points and three steals.
Southwestern out-scored TLU 36-23 in the second half.
The Bulldogs return to action Friday and Sunday against Austin College and Centenary, respectively. Both games will be played in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium (Jim Shuler Court).
