SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Trinity held Texas Lutheran to 26.9 percent shooting for the game and to 13.3 percent from the three-point line and handed the Bulldogs their first conference loss of the year in a 70-45 Tigers' victory Saturday.
Trinity, the three-time defending conference champion, improved to 10-3 overall and to 3-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
TLU dropped to 8-6 overall and to 4-1 in the SCAC.
TLU trailed 41-26 at the half and moved within 12 points early in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs could get no closer than 18.
The Bulldogs took 30 three-pointers but made only four.

Morgan Rodriguez (New Braunfels/Canyon) led TLU with 12 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore post
Abby Hroch (Port Lavaca/Calhoun) added six points and six rebounds.
For the game, Trinity shot 36.8 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from the three-point line. In the first half, the Tigers were 15-of-35 (42.9 percent) from the floor and 7-for-13 (53.9 percent) from the arc.
The Tigers also out-rebounded the Bulldogs 58-42.
Abby Holland paced Trinity with 13 points and nine rebounds. Hailey Coleman contributed 12 points and seven rebounds.
TLU returns to SCAC action Tuesday with 5:30 p.m. road game in Kerrville, Texas against Schreiner University.
