SAN ANTONIO, Texas --Â The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs split the final two matches of its tournament experience at the Trinity Invitational on Saturday.
TLU fell in four games to No. 4 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 25-11, 22-25, 25-14, 25-15, and won in five games against Concordia University Texas 25-21, 17-25, 16-25, 25-17, 15-13.Â
In the win over CTX,
Madison Weisinger (Friendswood/Friendswood) led the Bulldogs with 14 kills.
Remy Corbin (Austin/Westwood) distributed 23 assists and added six digs, and
Bryten Mitchan (San Antonio/Highlands) contributed 11 kills.Â
Kelly Jurden (Brenham/Brenham) dished out 18 assists, had 14 digs and a serving ace for the Bulldogs.
Jaci Chambers (Baytown/Goose Creek Memorial) picked up a team-best 22 digs.
In the loss to CMS, Mitchan registered 10 kills and two block assists.
Anna Bettersworth (New Braunfels/Canyon Lake) recorded 5 kills, one solo block and three block assists. Jurden delivered 14 assists, and Chambers produced 18 digs.Â
TLU returns home for Tuesday's home match with Our Lady of the Lake University. The non-conference match starts at 6 p.m. on TLU's Susan Duke Court.Â
