SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball came up just short against Our Lady of the Lake Tuesday evening.Â
At TLU's Susan Duke Court, the Saints (3-6) posted a 15-25, 25-23, 25-20, 16-25, 15-9 win over the Bulldogs (3-5).Â
Cailey Young (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) led TLU with 14 kills. Young hit .364 with the 14 kills on 33 attempts and only two errors.
Bryten Mitchan (San Anotion/Highlands) and
Kelsey Hamrick (Liberty Hill/Liberty Hill) followed with 13 and 12 kills, respectively.Â
Junior libero
Jaci Chambers (Baytown/Goose Creek Memorial) recorded 28 digs, and setter
Kelly Jurden (Brenham/Brenham) delivered 28 assists for the Bulldogs.Â
Kelsi Menn (San Antonio/Roosevelt) put up seven blocks (3 solo, 4 assists) for TLU, while
Peyton Sulak (Needville/Needville) served up four aces to go along with her 16 digs. Jurden added three aces of her own.Â
OLLU received 14 kills from Natalie Fazio, who also collected 14 digs. Tijana Kruta added 12 kills. Annisa Tamez led the Saints with 39 assists and a service ace.Â
The Bulldogs start SCAC play this Friday with a 3 p.m. match in Kerrville, Texas against Austin College.
