SEGUIN, Texas -- Dejan Savic's goal in the 49th minute proved to be the match-winner for Southwestern University in a 1-0 conference victory over Texas Lutheran on Tuesday. 

At TLU's Gustafson Field, Savic took a feed from Alex Newel and scored for the Pirates. The goal was his second for the year. 

The Pirates improved to 4-1-1 overall with the win and moved to 3-0-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. 

Tuesday's loss dropped TLU to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in the SCAC. 

SU held the Bulldogs to six total shots while the Pirates posted 12 total (two on goal).  

Braulio Adam (San Antonio/Lee) led the squad with just two shots, and TLU goalkeeper Brendan Soto registered one save for the the Bulldogs. 

The Bulldogs' next match, another SCAC contest, is set for noon on Sunday. The Bulldogs host Centenary College at TLU's Gustafson Field.
