SEGUIN, Texas -- Second-ranked Texas Lutheran notched a conference doubleheader sweep of Trinity on Friday with 8-0 and 7-4 wins as senior right-hander Maitlin Raycroft started the evening with the 10th no-hitter of her Bulldog career.

The Bulldogs improved to 21-1 overall and won their 13th and 14th consecutive games. TLU is now 6-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Trinity dropped to 11-11 overall and to 4-6 in the SCAC.

Raycroft picked up the no-hitter in the opening-game win - a victory that ended after five innings with the eight-run rule. First-year outfielder Skylar Ouellette (Corpus Christi/Gregory-Portland) produced the walk-off two-RBI double in the fifth.

With Raycroft keeping Trinity hitless in a scoreless game entering the fourth, the Bulldogs erupted for four runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth. First-year right fielder McKay Bloxham (Katy/Katy) belted a three-run triple in the fourth, and Kassie Maddox (Midland/Greenwood) hit a two-run home run in the fifth.

Raycroft recorded her second no-hitter of 2018 after pitching eight in 2017. Raycroft set the NCAA Division III single-season record for no-hitters last season and came within one no-hitter of tying the all-time collegiate mark for single-season no-hitters.

In the opener, Raycroft struck out three and walked two in improving to 11-0. The no-hitter was her 10th in 34 career starts with the Bulldogs. Raycroft is in her second season at TLU after transferring from Galveston College. She was a Second Team All-American and the SCAC Pitcher and Newcomer of the Year in 2017.

In game two, Raycroft came out of the bullpen to collect her first save of the season. She recorded the final two outs and preserved the win for Jordaine Bishop (Leander/Rouse), who improved to 6-0.

TLU trailed 4-0 entering the bottom of the second in game two. The Bulldogs rallied with a pair of runs in the second and four runs in the fourth.

The Bulldogs stole eight bases in the 7-4 win. Kelly Jurden (Brenham/Brenham) stole three, and Bloxham had two.

Cassie Roche (Corpus Christi/Gregory-Portland) drove in a pair of runs, and Jurden and Haley Padilla (Spring Branch/Smithson Valley) each scored two runs. Jurden went 2-for-2, and Ouellette also had a pair of hits.

TLU and Trinity return to Ed Kruse Stadium - Morck Softball Field on Saturday for a noon doubleheader.
