SEGUIN, Texas -- Senior guard
Nathan Josephs scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs to an 79-64 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference home win Saturday night against Colorado College.ÂÂ
Josephs hit seven of his 13 shots attempts and five of his nine three-point attempts for the Bulldogs, who improved to 4-5 overall and to 1-1 in the SCAC. Josephs also collected four rebounds and five assists.ÂÂ
The Tigers dropped to 4-7 overall and to 0-2 in conference.
Sophomore
Sebastian Andrade and senior
Jackson Willoughby also made it into double digits. Andrade had 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Willoughby chipped in 14 points and four rebounds.ÂÂ
Seniors
Jacob Kouremetis and
Harris Jowell each added eight points for the Bulldogs. Jowell pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, including six off defensive glass. ÂÂ
The Bulldogs rallied from an 11 point deficit in the first half, tying up the game 32-32 at the half. TLU held a 12 point lead with 10:33 left in the second half and never looked back.ÂÂ
The Tigers pulled within seven points at 61-54 with 3:26 remaining in the second half, but could close no further.ÂÂ
TLU shot 42.2 percent (27-for-64) from the field and went 11-for-29 (37.9 percent) from the the three-point line.ÂÂ
The Tigers shot 42.4 percent from the field (25-for-59) but made only five three-pointers. Colorado went 9-for-14 at the free throw line.
The Bulldogs host the Schreiner Mountaineers for their conference contest on Tuesday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.ÂÂ
