CONWAY, Ark. -- Texas Lutheran rallied from a 13-point second-quarter deficit to take a one-point lead midway through the fourth quarter, but Rhodes (Tenn.) received six straight points from Allie Young in the closing minutes to propel the Lynx to a 60-55 victory.

Saturday afternoon at Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., Madison Ray (Port Aransas/Port Aransas) made a layup to give TLU a 52-51 lead with 4:48 remaining in the game.

A minute later, Young put Rhodes back in front with a three-point play. She added a layup and a made free throw at the 2:33 and 1:00 marks, respectively.

The Lynx improved to 6-0 overall. TLU fell to 4-4 with the non-conference loss.

TLU still had its chances with two minutes to play. Tara Molina (San Antonio/Johnson) nailed a three-pointer to pull the Bulldogs within one, 56-55, with 1:19 to play, and Jenesis Navarro had a look at a go-ahead three-pointer with 38 seconds remaining.

Kiera Downey drained a three for Rhodes with nine seconds to play to put the game out of reach for TLU.

Alli Mayeux scored 14 points and had eight rebounds for Rhodes. Alyssa Owens and Downey scored 12 and 11, respectively. Young finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Lynx shot 42.9 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from the three-point line.

Molina (San Antonio/Johnson) led TLU with 15 points, three rebounds, and four steals. Abby Hroch (Port Lavaca/Calhoun) contributed 11 points and six rebounds.

The Bulldogs shot 35.6 percent from the floor and went 8-for-27 (29.6 percent) from the three-point line.

TLU was out-rebounded 41-26.

Rhodes went on a 23-2 run in the second quarter to turn an eight-point deficit into a 13-point lead with 1:13 to go in the first half. The Lynx led 35-24 at the break.
