ABILENE, Texas -- Senior guard
Jackson Willoughby (Port Aransas/Port Aransas) erupted for 21 points to lead the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs to a 79-56 non-conference road win Saturday over McMurry University.ÂÂ
Willoughby hit four of his five three pointers and shot 75 percent from the field (6-for-8). He added a team-best four steals to go along with three rebounds and two assists.ÂÂ
TLU improved to 2-3 overall and the War Hawks fell to 1-3.ÂÂ
The Bulldogs held a 19 point lead at the half and never looked back. TLU led by as many as 34 in the second half, holding the War Hawks to a 36 percent shooting percentage from the field.ÂÂ
Senior point guard
Nathan Josephs (San Antonio/Clark/Texas State) went 7-for-9 from the field and 4-for-6 from the arc to earn 19 points for the Bulldogs.
Jacob Kouremetis (San Antonio/O'Connor) scored 13 points and tallied four assists.ÂÂ
Harris Jowell (Brock/Brock) chipped in seven points and a game-high seven rebounds (all defensive).ÂÂ
Trevin Ramirez and Zacc Carter paced the War Hawks with 11 points.
