ABILENE, Texas --Â The Hardin-Simmons Cowboys led by as many at 18 in the first half and never let up in a 87-63 non-conference win Friday over the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs.
In the HSU Mabee Complex, HSU led 45-31 at the half and did not let the Bulldogs within 11 points in the second half.
The Cowboys finished the game with a shooting percentage of 48.4 percent.
The Bulldogs dropped to 1-3 overall. The Cowboys improved to 2-2 overall.Â
HSU received 11 points from guard Steven Quinn. He pulled down six rebounds, dished out two assists and had one steal.Â
The Cowboys also received scoring help from Keenan Holdman and Jalen Terry, who each added 10.Â
TLU'sÂ
Nathan Josephs (San Antonio/Clark) scored a team-high 17. He added four rebounds, three assists and a steal. Josephs shot 50 percent (5-for-10) from the arc, and went 6-for-16 from the field.Â
Harris Jowell (Brock/Brock) pulled down a team-best 10 rebounds (3 offensive, 7 defensive). Jowell contributed eight points and two assists.Â
Jacob Kouremetis (San Antonio/O'Connor) also dished out eight points for the Bulldogs to go along with three assists.Â
The Bulldogs play again tomorrow, in a 5 p.m. contest against McMurry University in Abilene.Â
