MARSHALL, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball rallied from an eight-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter before securing a 53-50 overtime win Saturday against LeTourneau University.
At the ASC/SCAC Crossover Tournament in Marshall, Texas, TLU senior guard
Cami Davis (Marion/Marion) hit a key three-pointer late in regulation and then hit another key three in the overtime as the Bulldogs held off the YellowJackets.
TLU improved to 2-1 overall with the non-conference win. LeTourneau fell to 1-1.
Davis's three in overtime put TLU ahead by one point with 1:19 to play.
Tara Molina (San Antonio/Johnson) scored five of TLU's eight points in overtime. She made three free throws and added a layup in the extra session.
Davis made four three-pointers against LeTourneau and finished with a team-high 15. She also had four rebounds and two assists.
Molina scored 11, and
Bryanna Delgado (Port Lavaca/Calhoun) added nine.
TLU shot just 28.6 percent from the field, but the Bulldogs held LeTourneau to 25.8 percent. The Bulldogs out-rebounded LeTourneau 49-46.
TLU returns to action this Tuesday with a 6 p.m. home game against McMurry University.
