MARSHALL, Texas -- Â Sophomore shooting guard
Sebastian Andrade nailed a jump-shot in the paint with three seconds remaining in the game to lift the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs to a 80-79 non-conference win Saturday over LeTourneau University.
At the ASC/SCAC Crossover Tournament in Marshall, Texas,
Shawn Hamilton stole the basketball from a LETU player in the final second to seal the victory.
TLU improved to 1-2 overall with the non-conference win. The YellowJackets dropped to 2-1.
Andrade finished the game with 27 points to lead the squad. He hit four of his eight three-point attempts and went 11-for-19 overall from the field. He also added four rebounds.
Seniors
Jacob Kouremetis and
Nathan Josephs also made it into double figures. Kouremetis had 14 points and four rebounds. Josephs recorded 11 points, two rebounds, and seven assists.Â
Senior
Jackson Willoughby pulled down a team-best eight rebounds, grabbing seven rebounds on the defensive glass.
Harris Jowell added seven rebounds for the Bulldogs.
 The Bulldogs trailed by as many as eight in the first half, but TLU held a 46-41 at the break. In the final five minutes, the score tied three times.
TLU shot 51.6 percent (32-for-62) for the game and went 10-for-23 (43.5 percent) from the three-point line.
The YellowJackets shot 45.8 percent from the field (33-for-72) but made only six three-pointers. LETU went 7-for-10 at the free throw line.
TLU head to Abilene, Texas for next weekend's two non-conference contests - against Hardin-Simmons University at 5 p.m. Friday and against McMurry University at 5 p.m. Saturday.
