SHERMAN, Texas-- In Texas Lutheran's second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest of the 2017-18 season, the Bulldogs hit a cold shooting spell and fell to Austin College 93-42 on Sunday afternoon.ÂÂ
The 'Roos improved to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in the SCAC. The Bulldogs dropped to 4-9 overall and 0-2 in the SCAC.
In Austin College's Hughey Gymnasium, the 'Roos took an early 10-point lead in the first three minutes of play. TLU's 17 turnovers allowed AC to secure a 30-point lead at the half.ÂÂ
Austin College held TLU to 15-of-55 (27.3 percent) shooting for the entire game. In the second half, TLU's shooting dipped to 9-of-35 (25.7 percent).ÂÂ
The 'Roos shot a respectable 44.2 percent from the field - 50 percent in the first half and 39.02 percent in the second.
Cami Davis (Marion/Marion/UT-Tyler) paced the Bulldogs with 11 points and four rebounds.
Presley Stephens (Crandall/Crandall) came off the bench to grab six rebounds and post five blocks.
Dominique Campos (Laredo/Alexander) added nine points, two rebounds and a steal.ÂÂ
Bryce Frank led the 'Roos in scoring and rebounding. She scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Caitlyn Collins and Ally Longaker chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively.ÂÂ
Conference play continues as TLU heads home for their next game against Trinity University. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Gymnasium.ÂÂ
