SEGUIN, Texas-- Texas Lutheran turned a 34-34 first half into a 15-point victory in the team's first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory of the year - a 74-59 home win over Schreiner - Saturday night in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs improved to 5-10 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
The Mountaineers fell to 5-10 overall and 3-1 in conference.
The Bulldogs held SU to a 22-for-58 (37.9 percent) shooting from from the field for the entire game.
TLU shot an impressive 50.9 percent from the field - 44.83 percent in the first half and 57.14 in the second.
Cami Davis (Marion/Marion/UT-Tyler) paced TLU with 13 points. She added eight rebounds, four assists and a steal.
Presley Stephens (Crandall/Crandall) chipped in 10 points. Stephens was 4-for-7 from the field. She added nine rebounds to go along with one assist, a block and a steal.
Bryanna Delgado (Calhoun/Port Lavaca) added 11 for the Bulldogs.
Jordyn Villa led the Mountaineers with 19 points, five rebounds and two steals. Villa contributed a team-high five assists. Kendall Dyal pulled down four rebounds and tallied three steals.
TLU continues conference play Friday with a 7:30 p.m. road game against the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
