SEGUIN, Texas -- Sophomore Makenzie Griffin came out swinging, leading the team with 11 kills and three block assists in Tuesday night's 3-0 shutout win over Howard Payne University. 

Freshmen Hannah Mikelonis registered seven kills, 11 digs and two serving aces for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Bryten Mitchan added nine kills and two block assists.

Freshmen setters Kionasina Nu'u and Remy Corbin tallied 16 and 11 assists, respectively. Corbin also contributed a serving ace for the Bulldogs. 

Savannah Kruse, a 6-1 freshmen from Cameron, Texas, had the only solo block of the match and tallied 5 kills. 

The Bulldogs kick off conference play at the Group A Divisional Tournament hosted by Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. TLU plays Friday at 4 p.m against Schreiner University and on Saturday 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. against nationally ranked Trinity University and Southwestern University.
