SEGUIN, Texas --
Maitlin Raycroft (Spring/Klein) tossed her seventh no-hitter of the 2017 season to propel Texas Lutheran to a doubleheader sweep of the University of Dallas Friday night at TLU's Ed Kruse Stadium.
TLU won the first game of the doubleheader 9-1 in six innings and took the second game 8-0 in six innings.
The Bulldogs moved their overall win streak to 28 games and improved to 28-4 overall. TLU, the three-time defending conference champion, is now 16-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Raycroft, a junior right-hander, pitched in the second game Friday. She struck out 10 and allowed only one batter to reach base. Dallas' Avery Finch reached on a Bulldog fielding error in the fourth inning. Raycroft faced just one over the minimum.
Raycroft (15-2) added to her NCAA Division III national record for no-hitters in a season. She registered the 21st no-hitter in school history.
Raycroft moved within two no-hitters of tying the all-time collegiate record for no-hitters in a season. That record is held by Michele Granger of California, who tossed nine no-hitters in 1993.
Raycroft is one of seven pitchers in NCAA softball history (NCAA DI, DII or DIII) to throw at least seven no-hitters in a season.
TLU's
Kirsten Whiteside went 4-for-5 on the day and stole three bases in the two games. Whiteside scored four runs.
Nicole Snow belted her third home run of the season in the early game.
Cassie Roche went 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI in the first game.
Kelsie McEachern also had a pair of RBI in the early contest.
Amanda Lochte improved to 11-1 in the first game. The senior right-hander tossed six innings, striking out four and not walking a batter. She allowed four hits.
Dallas dropped to 9-21 overall and to 4-10 in the SCAC with the two losses.
TLU and Dallas play a Saturday doubleheader, starting at noon at Ed Kruse Stadium.
