SAN ANTONIO -- Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball erased a double-digit deficit in the final three minutes and had a close-range shot to take the lead with 12 seconds to play, but the Trinity Tigers corralled the rebound and made two late free throws in a 74-71 win over the Bulldogs.

The No. 12 Tigers earned a regular-season split with the Bulldogs and improved to 20-1 overall and to 9-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

TLU (17-5, 9-2 SCAC) now sits a half-game behind Trinity in the SCAC standings.

Savannah Hight led TLU with 26 points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Kristen Lye added 21 points, 11 rebounds and four steals.

TLU was hurt by 27 turnovers and by a second quarter in which Trinity out-scored the Bulldogs 20-8.

Micah Weaver led Trinity with 21 points and nine rebounds. She missed the closing minutes due to injury.
