SEGUIN, Texas -- The University of Texas at Dallas put together a five-run fifth and a four-run sixth to collect an 11-7 road win Friday night against Texas Lutheran.
At TLU's Katt-Isbel Field, UTD first baseman Barry Casey hit a three-run home run in the sixth to push UTD's lead from 6-3 to 9-3.
Casey drove in four runs. Lead-off hitter Josh Covey collected three hits, a run scored and an RBI.
Connor Scruggs, Luke Richter, Thomas Craig and Isaiah Swann each had two hits. Swann scored twice and drove in two.
Keaton Boysen led the TLU offensive attack with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Boysen doubled, tripled and had a stolen base.
Sami Resendez and
Riley Schaefer each drove in a pair of runs for the Bulldogs.
Nathan Malinovsky took the loss for TLU. He struck out six and allowed three earned runs in five innings.
The Bulldogs made six errors in the field that led to three unearned runs.
Jamie Andriot went six innings for his first win of the year. Andriot (1-0) struck out five and allowed five earned run.
