ABILENE, Texas-- Texas Lutheran Bulldogs edged the Hardin-Simmons women's basketball squad by five points in the second half to secure a 62-61 non-conference road win at HSU's Mabee Complex.
The Bulldogs improved to 3-6 with the victory. The Cowgirls dropped to 3-5.
TLU held a 9-to-6 second chance points edge over HSU and to go along with a 24-to-22 points in the paint margin.ÂÂ
Madyson Garcia (San Antonio/Clemens) led the Bulldogs with 17 points.
Cami Davis (Marion/Marion) put up 15 points and three rebounds. She added nine assists and five steals.ÂÂ
Of the Cowgirl's 42 total rebounds, 19 came on the offensive glass. HSU forward Karlea Ritchie pulled down eight rebounds
Danie Mabry scored 23 points and collected five rebounds and two assists for the Cowgirls.
HSU led 30-26 at the break but TLU out-scored the Cowgirls 16- 14 in the third and 20-17 in the fourth to snag the one-point victory.
TLU returns to action Dec. 29th at 2 p.m. with a non-conference road game in Kerrville, Texas against LeTourneau University.
