ABILENE, Texas -- McMurry opened up a 20-point, third-quarter lead over Texas Lutheran and posted a 58-42 non-conference home win over the Bulldogs Friday night in Kimbrell Arena.

The Bulldogs fell to 2-6 with the loss. The War Hawks improved to 5-3.

The Bulldogs received eight points from Cami Davis (Marion/Marion/UT Tyler). The junior transfer added four rebounds and three steals. 

Katie Pesek (Odem/Odem), Tara Molina (San Antonio/Johnson), Jordan Estrada (Marion/Marion) and Dominique Campos (Laredo/Alexander) each contributed six points. Pesek pulled down five rebounds. 

Presley Stephens (Crandall/Crandall/Allen Community College) led the Bulldogs in rebounds with six. She also blocked three shots and posted one steal. 

TLU could not connect from the three-point line, going 1-for-16 in the contest. McMurry shot 35.7 percent - 10-for-28 - from the arc. 

TLU out-rebounded McMurry by seven, 40-33. The Bulldogs grabbed 31 defensive rebounds. 

The Bulldogs continue non-conference play in Abilene, Texas with a game Saturday versus Hardin-Simmons University. Game start time is set for 5:30 p.m. at HSU's Mabee Complex.
