SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball took a three-set win over Schreiner and lost in four sets to No. 5 Southwestern, Saturday at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Group A Divisional Tournament.
At Trinity University, TLU defeated Schreiner 25-23, 25-21, 25-17 and fell to Southwestern 25-18, 24-26, 25-10, 25-12.
In the win over Schreiner,
Makenzie Griffin and
Hannah Mikelonis each tallied 10 kills.
Mathis Popelsky served three aces, and
Kelly Jurden dished out 27 assists.
Kionasina Nu'u added 16 assists.
Popelsky and
Jaci Chambers collected 18 and 16 assists, respectively.
In the loss to Southwestern, Griffin and
Bryten Mitchan each had 12 kills. Jurden served two aces, and
Cailey Young had three blocks.
Jurden delivered 24 assists, and Chambers recorded 17 digs.
TLU's overall record now stands at 13-10 overall with an SCAC mark of 5-5.
The Bulldogs' next match is a non-conference match against St. Mary's University in San Antonio. Match start time is 6 p.m. in Greehey Arena on the St. Mary's campus.
