IRVING, Texas --
Matt Perry came off the Texas Lutheran bench and hit all six of his three-point shots as the Bulldogs secured a 77-70 come-from-behind road win Sunday over the University of Dallas.
At the University of Dallas Maher Center, TLU trailed by nine with 13:51 to play before Perry hit the first of his three second-half three-pointers. After
Alex Cage scored on a layup to bring TLU within four, Perry brought the Bulldogs within one with a three at the 12:13 mark.
Perry's final three, his sixth of the game, gave TLU its first lead of the game at 60-58 with 11:49 to play. The Bulldogs never trailed again.
The Bulldogs' run hit 13-0, and the lead grew to four, with
Matthew Gillette's jumper on the next TLU possession.
Over the final 13:51, TLU out-scored Dallas 28-12.
Perry's three three-pointers in the first half kept TLU in the game. He scored nine points in six minutes.
Dallas led by as many as 11 in the first half, but Perry made three shots beyond the arc over the final 4:48 to leave TLU at only a seven-point deficit.
In the second half, TLU shot 54.2 percent overall and made six of its 10 three-point shots.
Sterling Holmes and
Harris Jowell each added 12 points for the Bulldogs, who improved to 7-6 overall and to 1-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
Dallas dropped to 5-7 overall and to 0-3 in the SCAC.
Zach Behr led TLU with eight rebounds. He added six points, five assists, three steals and two blocks.
Alex Cage contributed four assists, six points and two steals.
TLU returns to Seguin for conference home games next Friday and Saturday against Schreiner and Trinity, respectively.
