SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball maintained its half-game lead in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a convincing 95-69 home win Saturday over Centenary (La.).
With the win in Memorial Gymnasium, TLU improved to 16-4 overall and to 8-1 in the SCAC. The Bulldogs still hold a half-game lead over Top 25-ranked Trinity.
The Bulldogs led for all but 1:22 of the game against the Ladies and led by as many as 35 in the third quarter.
TLU seniors
Savannah Hight and
Kristen Lye combined for 44 points and nine rebounds. Lye scored 22 and had six rebounds. Hight chipped in 20 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals.
Lye made 10 of her 13 shots, and Hight made six of her eight.
The Bulldogs made 76.9 percent of their shots in the second quarter and opened a 53-31 lead at the half.
Cierra Jordan contributed 11 points and seven rebounds.
TLU took advantage of 24 Centenary turnovers.
Centenary fell to 5-15 overall and to 1-8 in the SCAC. TLU completed the regular-season sweep of the Ladies.
