SEGUIN, Texas -- Centenary College (La.) snapped Texas Lutheran's three-game conference win streak with a 89-74 win over the Bulldogs Saturday night in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
On the newly-dedicated Jim Shuler Court, the Bulldogs led just once all night against the Gents, who improved to 9-11 overall and to 3-6 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
TLU dropped to 12-8 overall and to 6-3 in the SCAC.
Travion Kirkendoll paced the Gents with 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting. Kirkendoll made five of his eight three-pointers.
The Gents took 27 three-pointers and made 12. Centenary also hit 17 of its 18 free throw attempts.
Gents' forward James Sapp added 18 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and four steals.
Centenary made 56 percent of its second-half shots.
TLU connected only six of its 24 three-point attempts and shot 41.5 percent overall.
Zach Behr led the Bulldogs with 23 points and eight rebounds.
Sterling Holmes added 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Bulldogs.
