SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran moved to 3-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 74-47 home win Friday evening against Schreiner University.

In TLU's Memorial Gymnasium, TLU used a balanced scoring attack and stifling defense to get past the Mountaineers, who fell to 3-11 overall and to 1-2 in the SCAC.

TLU (11-3, 3-0 SCAC) held Schreiner to 25 percent shooting overall and to 16 percent (4-for-25) from the three-point line.

The Bulldogs were led in scoring by senior forward
Savannah Hight. The San Antonio native and Brandeis product finished with 12 points and now sits just one point shy of 1,000 points for her career. Hight added seven rebounds and four steals.

TLU freshman
Kasey Hairell chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and two steals.

Kristen Lye and
Bailey Champion each scored nine. Lye grabbed six rebounds, and Champion recorded five rebounds and three assists.

The Bulldogs out-scored Schreiner 20-5 in the second quarter and led by as many as 30 in the fourth quarter.

TLU turns around and faces No. 12/14 Trinity at 4 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Gymansium. The Tigers are 14-0 overall and 3-0 in the SCAC after Friday's 77-71 road win over Southwestern.
