SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Volleyball rolled to a perfect 4-0 record at the Bulldog Classic.
After defeating Howard Payne and Hardin-Simmons in four games on Friday, TLU dispatched Linfield (Ore.) in four and Lewis & Clark (Ore.) in three on Saturday.
TLU improved to 6-2 overall with the four victories, all registered on the Bulldogs' Susan Duke Court.
In the 20-25, 25-18, 26-24, 25-22 victory over Linfield, the Bulldogs received 15 kills, two aces and a block from
Kristin Fording.
Mackenzie Zamarripa added 11 kills and two blocks.
Carlie Childres and
Alexis Kurtz combined for seven blocks, and
Makenzie Griffin collected nine kills and two blocks.
Kaci Pecht and
Jaci Chambers delivered 26 and 22 assists, respectively, and
Mathis Popelsky tallied 24 digs.
In the three-set win over Lewis & Clark, Fording led TLU with 14 kills. Popelsky added 22 digs, and Chambers and
Sydney Sierra combined for 24 assists. Childres picked up two kills and two blocks.
TLU defeated the Pioneers 25-21, 25-21, 25-22.
TLU was the only team among the six squads at the Bulldog Classic to go 4-0 in the tournament.
