SAN ANTONIO -- Third-ranked Texas Lutheran rolled to a 13-4 run-rule victory in five innings against Centenary College (La.) Friday to advance to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Softball Tournament semifinal.
The Bulldogs, the two-time defending champions and the tournament top seed for a third straight time, scored six in the first and seven in the third to break the game open.
At Trinity Softball Field, the Bulldogs set the new school record for single-season wins with their 38th. TLU is 38-2 this year and now 10-0 all-time in the SCAC Tournament.
Nicole Snow tripled with the bases loaded in the first inning and drove in four in a 2-for-4 performance. She also scored a pair of runs.
Brayden Pinckard added two hits and three RBI.
Taylor Grissom collected her 15th win of the year against zero defeats. The senior right-hander went four innings and did not allow an earned run.
TLU faces the winner of Trinity-v-Dallas (last game of Friday evening) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trinity University Softball Field.
