AUSTIN, Texas -- Fourth-ranked Texas Lutheran scored 11-2 and 10-2 run-rule victories Tuesday on the road against Concordia University Texas.
At Tornado Softball Field, TLU collected 26 hits and held Concordia Texas to six - four in the first game and two in the second.
TLU improved to 26-1 overall. Concordia Texas fell to 7-21 with the two non-conference losses.
Each game ended after five innings with the eight-run rule.
Megan Armistead, TLU's senior second baseman from Montgomery, went 5-for-7 with six runs scored and four RBI in the doubleheader.
Armistead belted a double in each game and stole three bases - two in the early game and one in the late. She now has a team-best 24 steals on the season.
Nicole Snow and
Kirsten Whiteside each drove in a pair of runs in the first game.
Taylor Yancey went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the second game.
Jennifer Gallagher added two RBI in the late game.
Grace Estes finished the day 4-for-7 with four runs scored.
Taylor Grissom moved her pitching record to 10-0 with three innings of work in the first game.
Amanda Lochte took her season mark to 8-1 with five innings in the second game.
TLU continues Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play this Friday and Saturday with 1 p.m. doubleheaders at Southwestern University.
