KERRVILLE, Texas -- Texas Lutheran stretched its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference regular-season win streak to 42 games with two five-inning wins - 12-2 and 14-4 - Saturday afternoon against Schreiner University.
Heather Hummel hit a three-run home run in the early game and belted solo and and two-run homers in the late game. Hummel drove in seven total runs and moved her season home run total to six.
TLU improved to 20-1 overall and to 8-0 in the SCAC. Schreiner dropped to 3-17 overall, 1-7 SCAC.
The Bulldogs swept all four games of the conference series from Schreiner. TLU won 3-2 and 1-0 Friday in Kerrville.
Taylor Yancey and
Nicole Snow also homered in the second game Saturday. Yancey went 5-for-6 with five runs scored and four RBI over the two games. Snow went 4-for-7 with three runs scored and four RBI.
Grace Estes collected three hits on the day and drove in four.
Veny Pizana improved to 5-0 with the complete-game win in the early game.
Samantha Yenne moved to 2-0 with the complete-game victory in the second game.
TLU returns to Ed Kruse Stadium - Morck Softball Field for a four-game SCAC series against Centenary (La.) next Friday and Saturday.
