COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Sixth-ranked Texas Lutheran pushed its regular-season win streak to 46 games and its 2016 record to 16-0 with a 4-1 win Saturday afternoon over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Calif.) at the NFCA Leadoff Classic.
TLU is 4-0 at the Leadoff Classic. The Bulldogs won Pool 6 with a 3-0 record and then handed CMS a loss in each team's first game of the tournament's Gold Championship Bracket.
The Bulldogs face Trine (Ind.) in the NFCA Gold Championship Bracket semifinal. First pitch is set for 10 a.m. central/11 a.m. eastern at South Commons Complex.
Against CMS, the Bulldogs put up four runs in the third inning and made it stand up against the Athenas (12-5-1).
Heather Hummel hit a two-run double in the third for TLU.

Taylor Grissom tossed six innings of four-hit softball. She struck out one and did not issue a walk. Grissom improved to 6-0.
Amanda Lochte worked the seventh and recorded her first save of the year.
