IRVING, Texas -- Sunday afternoon at Crusader Field, Texas Lutheran fell 5-4 in the finale of a three-game series with University of Dallas.
Dallas (4-9) took two out of three from the Bulldogs (6-5). Dallas won the first game Saturday 6-3. TLU took the late game Saturday 15-1.
In Sunday's game, Dallas took a 5-2 lead into the ninth. TLU rallied for two runs in the frame with a two-run single from
Rayce Gatlin.
Still batting in the ninth, TLU had two runners on base with two outs before a fly-ball out ended the game.
Alejandro Gutierrez and
Justin Law each had two hits for TLU. Gutierrez scored a run, and Law drove in a run.
TLU returns to action at Katt-Isbel Field this Friday and Saturday for a three-game series against Top 25-ranked Trinity.
