LONGVIEW, Texas -- The LeTourneau YellowJackets snapped Texas Lutheran's six-game win streak with a 77-68 non-conference victory Friday afternoon in LeTourneau's Solheim Arena.

After TLU took a 17-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, LeTourneau out-scored the Bulldogs 50-20 over the next two quarters.

The Bulldogs trailed by 19 at the end of the third quarter but rallied to cut the YellowJackets lead to five with 2:37 to play after a Kasey Hairell jumper.

LaTanya Drakes and Crystal Jones answered with made baskets for LeTourneau to push the lead back to nine with 1:32 remaining.

TLU moved the LeTourneau lead back down to seven, after a three-pointer from Madison Ray with 49 seconds to play, but the Bulldogs could close no further.

The Bulldogs dropped to 8-3 with the loss. LeTourneau improved to 6-6 overall. The teams split the season series, with each team winning on its home floor.

Jones led LeTourneau with 27 points. She added five rebounds and three steals. Drakes scored 22 and pulled down 13 rebounds. Jada Roberts registered 10 rebounds.

LeTourneau out-rebounded TLU 54-36. The YellowJackets held a 17-9 edge in offensive rebounds.

Savannah Hight paced the Bulldogs with 15 points and five rebounds. Kasey Hairell chipped in 13 points and five rebounds.

TLU finished the game with a shooting percentage of .377. The Bulldogs went 5-for-17 (.294) from the three-point line.

The Bulldogs' next action is an exhibition road game at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse in Edinburg, Texas. The game counts as a regular-season contest for UTRGV.
