SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Basketball out-scored McMurry 45-27 in the second half and pulled away for an 82-66 home victory Tuesday afternoon in Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs won their fifth straight and their seventh in the last eight games.
TLU improved to 7-2 overall. McMurry dropped to 3-7. TLU swept the season series from the War Hawks.
TLU seniors
Cierra Jordan and
Savannah Hight each scored 17.
Jordan recorded a career-high seven steals and added four rebounds and four assists to go along with her 17 points.
Hight posted a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. She also dished out four assists and had two steals.
Kristen Lye added 15 points, leaving her two points shy of scoring her 1,000th point. Lye contributed eight rebounds.
Caitln Rendon registered a career-high three blocks, and
Bailey Champion and Kasey Harrell each scored 11.
TLU held McMurry to 10-for-29 in total field goals in the second half and to 6-for-21 for the game from the three-point line.
The Bulldogs made it to the free throw line 28 times against the War Hawks and made 21.
TLU's next two games take place in Longview, Texas on Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 against East Texas Baptist and host LeTourneau University.
