SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran senior
Marisol Ramos sent the Bulldogs and her eight fellow seniors home happy on Senior Night with an overtime goal just 17 seconds into the extra session against Southwestern. The Bulldogs captured a 2-1 conference win over the Pirates at TLU's Gustafson Field.

Ramos corralled a cross from
Selena Wicklund in the opening moments of the first overtime and beat the Southwestern keeper with hard shot into the right corner of the goal.

The goal set off a raucous on-field celebration for the Bulldogs, who stayed on the field with their families for a Senior Night presentation.

Krystel Wolfe each scored against the Pirates. The goals were the first goals of the season for the two seniors.

Kiara Morales tied the match at 1-1 for Southwestern with a goal in the 75th minute.

Erin Rose, the TLU senior keeper, made three saves for the Bulldogs.

Mary Cardone had two saves for the Pirates.

Southwestern dropped to 10-7 overall and to 8-4 in the SCAC.

TLU improved to 8-4-4 overall and to 6-3-3 in the SCAC.

With the win, TLU secured the third seed for the upcoming SCAC Tournament. The Bulldogs have finished as the SCAC Tournament runner-up to Trinity in each of the last two conference tournaments. Southwestern will be the No. 2 seed. Trinity is the top seed.

The conference tournament will be played next Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas.
