COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Texas Lutheran collected its third straight win and improved to 6-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 66-54 road win over Colorado College.
Friday night in Reid Arena, the Bulldogs limited the Tigers to 32.8 percent shooting and capitalized on 24 Colorado turnovers.
TLU improved to 10-9 overall.
Colorado College dropped to 2-18 overall and to 1-8 in the SCAC.
Junior guard
Cierra Jordan (Llano/Llano) scored 12 points off the bench for the Bulldogs. Jordan hit five of her 10 shots. She added four steals.
Jasmine Sauceda (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) chipped in 11 points, and
Adelaide Wenzel (Victoria/Victoria East) contributed 10 points and five rebounds.
The Bulldogs shot 44.4 percent from the floor and did not make a three. But TLU did make nine more free throws and took 13 more shots from the line.
Kristen Lye (San Antonio/Clark) led TLU with seven rebounds. She added six points.
The Bulldogs now travel to Shreveport, La. for a 2 p.m. Sunday matchup with Centenary (La.).
