SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Volleyball extended its season-opening win streak to seven games and opened Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 25-13, 25-12, 25-23 home win Friday evening over Schreiner University.
At TLU's Tostengard Activity Center (Susan Duke Court), TLU hit .300 and .304 in the first two sets and held on the third despite hitting just .098.
The Bulldogs (7-0) were led in kills by
Kristin Fording's 14.
Mackenzie Zamarrippa added five, and
Carlie Childress contributed four.
Cadie Mae Vanecek served four aces, and
Kelcie Ingram added three aces. Ingram delivered 20 assists, and
Kaci Pecht recorded 11 assists.
Zamarrippa led TLU with two blocks.
Megan Dugie and Fording collected 16 and 13 digs, respectively.
TLU plays a pair of SCAC matches Saturday in Tostengard. The Bulldogs face No. 23-ranked Southwestern at 12:30 p.m. and perennial SCAC power Trinity at 5 p.m.
