SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Women's Volleyball remained undefeated in the young 2015 season with a pair of three-set victories Saturday at the Bulldog Classic, played at TLU's Tostengard Activity Center - Susan Duke Court.
TLU defeated Sul Ross State 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 and downed Concordia Texas 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.
The Bulldogs are now 6-0 after the two non-conference victories.
Kristin Fording (San Antonio/O'Connor) collected 16 kills in the first match and 18 more kills in the second. The junior outside hitter hit .361 in the early match and .333 in the late match.
Brette Threadgill (Sinton/Sinton) registered 10 kills against Sul Ross State and 11 against Concordia.
TLU hit .317 against the Lobos and .160 against the Tornados. Concordia Texas managed a .000 hitting percentage against the Bulldogs in the 6 p.m. match. Concrodia had 25 kills and 25 errors in the three games.
Kelcie Ingram (Cibolo/Steele) and
Kaci Pecht (Brenham/Brenham) distributed 20 and 19 assists, respectively, against Sul Ross and 16 and nine, resprectively, against Concordia.
Megan Dugie (San Antonio/East Central) led the Bulldogs with 23 digs in the first match and with 19 digs in the second.
TLU opens Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play next Friday and Saturday with home matches against Schreiner, Southwestern and Trinity. TLU faces Schreiner at 6 p.m. Friday and meets Southwestern and Trinity at 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively, on Saturday.
