SHREVEPORT, La. â€" A six-run second inning put the Texas Lutheran baseball squad behind early, and the Bulldogs couldn't battle back, dropping the final game of the regular season 8-0 at Centenary on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs entered the day with a chance to claim a share of the SCAC regular-season title with a win. As it is, they will enter the SCAC Championship, which will be hosted by Centenary, as the two seed. They will take on Trinity in the first round on Friday, May 1.

Texas Lutheran ends the season with a 25-12 record and a 13-5 mark in conference play. They entered the final series of the regular season riding a 10-game SCAC winning streak before being swept by the Gents.

On Sunday, TLU was hurt by that six-run second inning. Centenary had five singles and a double in the frame.

Derek Cantu (George West, Texas) took the loss for TLU. The sophomore got through the first inning, but gave up three runs in the second before being removed.

Dylan Drgac (Caldwell, Texas) entered the game for Cantu and tossed four innings, giving up five runs on nine hits.

Aaron Milone (Houston, Texas) worked two perfect innings in the sixth and seventh, while
Stephen Greenlees (Liberty Hill, Texas) tossed a shutout eighth inning.

The Bulldog offense managed four hits against the Centenary pitchers, as TLU was shut out for the second straight game.
