SEGUIN, Texas â€" Texas Lutheran Softball moved its school-record win streak to 25 games with 6-0 and 9-2 conference home wins Friday over Southwestern University.

rd in the latest NFCA poll for NCAA Division III, TLU improved to 28-4 overall and to 18-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Southwestern fell to 16-16 overall and to 12-6 in the SCAC. The Pirates entered the series in second place in the conference standings.

The defending champion of the SCAC, TLU also extended its conference regular-season win streak to 29 games and its Ed Kruse Stadium undefeated mark to 21.

TLU's game-one starter
Taylor Grissom (Spring/Klein Collins) remained perfect, at 13-0, with six shutout innings. Grissom struck out four, allowed four hits and did not walk a batter.

Veny Pizana (Odem/Odem) notched the game-two victory with six innings of work. Pizana did not allow an earned run, and she struck out five without a walk. Pizana improved to 9-2.

Taylor Yancey (Magnolia/Magnolia West) drilled a three-run triple to right field in the Bulldogs' four-run sixth in game one.

Heather Hummel (Houston/Stratford) smashed a solo home run, her third of the season, in the late game.

Jennifer Gallagher (Missouri City/Elkins) went 2-for-3 with four RBI in the second game.
Â
Grace Estes (Willis/Willis) went a combined 4-for-6 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Ashley Jacobsen (Marion/Marion) added a combined total of 3-for-7 with three RBI and three runs scored.

TLU and Southwestern are scheduled to play a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, also at Ed Kruse Stadium- Morck Softball Field. Inclement weather is forecast for most of Saturday.
