IRVING, Texas â€" Texas Lutheran Baseball finished off its first SCAC sweep of the season with a resounding 10-1 win over the University of Dallas on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Bulldogs outscored the Crusaders 23-6 in the three-game series and improved to 7-2 in the SCAC with Sunday's win. They now sit at 18-8 overall.
 
On Sunday, TLU scored twice in the first to take the early lead and rode a strong pitching effort from Derek Cantu, Lincoln Baylor and Aaron Milone to the convincing win.
 
In his second career start, Cantu (George West, Texas) tossed five innings, allowing just one run on four hits. In his two starts this year, Cantu has given up just three runs in eight innings.
 
Baylor (Schertz, Texas) and Milone (Houston, Texas) combined to allow just one hit the rest of the way. Baylor went three innings allowing just one hit, while Milone finished off the game with a 1-2-3 ninth.
 
On offense the Bulldogs rolled to 10 runs with 12 hits. The scoring was started in that first inning with Matt King scoring on a wild pitch and Keaton Bohrmann scoring on a Justin Law sacrifice fly.
 
Bohrmann (San Antonio, Texas) and Tony Gennusa (Kingwood, Texas) led the way with a pair of 3-for-5 days. Both players notched an RBI and scored a run.
 
Eight different Bulldogs scored at least one run on the day.
 
After scoring twice in the first inning the Bulldogs broke the game open in the fifth with three more runs. King, Bohrmann and Law each notched RBI singles in the frame.
 
The Bulldogs have now scored at least 10 runs in five games this season, all of them wins.
 
Texas Lutheran will take a break from conference play on Tuesday. It will come home to take on Our Lady of the Lake at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Katt-Isbel Field. Live video and live stats will be available via tlubulldogs.com.
