SAN ANTONIO â€" The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs stretched their unbeaten streak to 15 games with 9-0 and 8-2 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victories Friday at Trinity University.

At the Trinity University Softball Field, TLU improved to 18-4 overall and to 10-0 in the SCAC.

TLU, the defending SCAC champion and an NCAA Tournament team a year ago, improved to 31-1 all-time in the SCAC.

Trinity, the team that delivered TLU's lone SCAC loss a year ago, dropped to 3-11 overall and to 1-3 in the SCAC.

Taylor Grissom (Spring/Klein Collins) won for the ninth time in 2015 (in eight starts) and tossed her fourth shutout. Grissom spun a four-hit shutout against the Tigers and lowered her season ERA to 0.15.

Hope Estes (Willis/Willis) drove in four in the first game, and junior third baseman
Heather Hummel (Houston/Stratford) added two hits and three RBI. Hummel belted a three-run double in the fifth.

The first game ended in the sixth inning with the eight-run rule.

In game two, the Bulldogs jumped to 5-1 lead after two innings.
Jennifer Gallagher (Missouri City/Elkins) collected an RBI single in the first, and
Nicole Snow (Tomball/Klein Oak) tripled in the first.

Taylor Yancey (Magnolia/Magnolia West) homered in the second inning, and Hummel belted a two-run blast in the seventh.

Veny Pizana (Odem/Odem) moved to 6-2 with six innings of work. Pizana struck out four and worked around four walks. The sophomore right-hander did not allow an earned run.
