AUSTIN -- Concordia Texas opened up a 21-5 lead at the end of the first quarter and ran away with a 61-40 non-conference home win Tuesday over Texas Lutheran.
At the Concordia Fieldhouse, Texas Lutheran made just 20.3 percent of its total shots and went 3-for-17 from the three-point line.
Concordia made 14 more field goals than the Bulldogs and shot 35.6 percent from the floor.
Concordia led for all but the first 16 seconds of the game.
The Tornados improved to 6-1 overall. The Bulldogs dropped to 3-4.
Senior forward
Taylor Dydalewicz (Dripping Springs/Lake Travis) led TLU with nine points. She added seven rebounds, two blocks and three steals.

Autumn Shead (Pflugerville/Connally) added seven points, nine rebounds, three assists and a block. Junior forward
Savannah Hight (San Antonio/Brandeis) chipped in eight points and seven rebounds.
Isis Johnson led Concordia with 18. She collected eight rebounds and had three steals.
TLU's returns to Memorial Gymnasium for home contests on Dec. 18 and Dec. 19 against Hendrix (Ark.) and Hardin-Simmons, respectively.
