SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran shot a season-best 54.5 percent from the field to record a 88-78 home win over Hendrix College (Ark.), Friday afternoon in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs snapped a two-game skid with the non-conference win over the Warriors.
TLU improved to 4-4 overall. Hendrix dropped to 7-2.
Kristen Lye (San Antonio/Clark) and
Adelaide Wenzel (Victoria/Victoria East) each scored 15 for the Bulldogs. Lye grabbed three rebounds and registered three steals. Wenzel dished out four assists and had two steals.
Savannah Hight (San Antonio/Brandeis) scored 11, grabbed seven rebounds and collected four assists and three blocks.
Autumn Shead (Pflugerville/Connally) came off the bench to score 12, pick up four rebounds and block three shots.
TLU led 45-34 at the break after shooting 55.9 percent in the first two quarters.
Hendrix went on a 23-11 run to start the second half and took a 57-56 lead in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs' good shooting continued in the second half. TLU made 53.1 percent overall and hit 4-of-8 from the three-point line.
TLU out-scored Hendrix 26-20 in the final quarter.
Hendrix post player Sara Dyslin scored 34 and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Warriors. She went 12-for-18 from the field and 10-for-11 from the free throw line. She added three steals.
Heather Prowse added 19 for the Warriors.
