TYLER, Texas -- At the University of Texas at Tyler's Christmas Classic, Crystal Jones scored 30 points to lead the LeTourneau University YellowJackets to a 93-63 win over Texas Lutheran on Wednesday afternoon.
Jones scored her 30 points in 23 minutes of action. She made 11 of her 16 shot attempts, and she was 4-for-8 from the three-point line.
Shaquicia Johnson added 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench for LETU.
TLU made just 30.5 percent of its shots for the game. The Bulldogs were 3-for-15 from the three-point line.
Adelaide Wenzel and
Cierra Jordan scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for TLU.
Madison Ray led the Bulldogs in rebounds, with seven.
LeTourneau moved to 7-5 with the victory. TLU dropped to 4-7. The teams split the season series. The Bulldogs defeated LeTourneau 62-59 in Seguin on Nov. 27.
The Bulldogs return to Seguin for Saturday's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener with Southwestern University. The women's game, set for a 6 p.m. start, follows the TLU-Southwestern men's game, which begins at 4 p.m.
