GEORGETOWN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs stormed to a 25-11, 25-17, 25-18 quarterfinal win Friday afternoon over the University of Dallas at the 2015 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Championship.
TLU advances to the SCAC semifinal to play tournament host and No. 2 seed Southwestern University at 6 p.m. Friday night.
In Southwestern University's Robertson Center, TLU held Dallas to a .031 hitting percentage. The Crusaders posted 23 kills with 19 errors in 129 attempts.
TLU hit .280 for the match with 44 kills and just 11 errors in 118 attempts.
The Bulldogs improved to 18-7 overall. Dallas dropped to 11-22.
The Crusaders play Austin College at 11 a.m. Saturday in the fifth-place match.
Kristin Fording, TLU's junior outside hitter, led the Bulldogs with 14 kills on 42 attempts. She added a team-high 19 digs.
Anna Keeling, the Bulldogs' senior middle blocker, collected three block assists and contributed eight kills on 17 attempts. She made just one hitting error.
Brette Threadgill delivered 12 kills and made just one error in 23 attempts. She hit .478 for the match.
Kelcie Ingram registered 22 assists, and
Kaci Pecht added 18 assists.
