SEGUIN, Texas -- Mary Hardin-Baylor held Texas Lutheran to 30.5 percent shooting and ran away with a 78-50 non-conference win Monday night in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
UMHB improved to 2-3. TLU, playing its third game in four days, dropped to 3-3.
The game was tied at 10 midway through the first quarter. Kourtney Bevers hit a three to give UMHB a lead it never relinquished.
UMHB led 39-27 at the half and extended the lead to 54-35 at the end of the third.
Jonelle Smith came off the UMHB bench to score 15 points and grab eight rebounds.
Destini Oakmon (11), Bridjai Chaney (10) and Tori Tucker (10) each hit double figures for the Cru. Chaney added eight rebounds.
Kristen Lye scored 11 and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs.
Bailey Champion added 12 points, two assists, and two rebounds.
The Bulldogs were 2-for-17 from the three-point line.
UMHB led in points in the paint (42-24), in fast break points (14-2), and in second chance points (13-4).
TLU's next game is a road game against Concordia Texas on Dec. 8. Tip-off in Austin is set for 5:30 p.m.
